Privacy
Calm Scroll is local-first. It needs to inspect page presentation to stop motion, but it does not send your page content or browsing history anywhere.
What the extension stores
The extension stores only your per-site Stable mode choices—site hostname, on/off state, and media or sticky-layer exceptions—in the browser’s local extension storage. It does not store page text, form entries, visited URLs, motion scan results, or media.
Permissions
- Site access: needed to detect and disable animation, transforms, autoplay, smooth scrolling, and sticky layers on pages you visit.
- Storage: needed to remember your choices for each hostname.
- Active tab: needed for the popup to report and change the page you are viewing.
The extension does not use these permissions for advertising, analytics, or selling data.
Website and license data
This website uses no analytics, advertising pixels, third-party fonts, or runtime CDN scripts. If you buy or restore Supporter edition, the license token and a time-stamped verification result are stored in this browser’s local storage. Verification sends that token—not your browsing activity—to the Sociobot billing API. Checkout is hosted by Sociobot / Dodo, the merchant of record, under their transaction privacy terms.
Offline cache
The website’s service worker caches public page assets on your device so basic information remains available offline. Clear this site’s browser data to remove the cache, license, and verification result. Remove the extension to delete its local per-site settings.
